IMMERSION: Last Day

Image
For the first day of this week, we already noticed the 1st Quarter PIAS Rank Inspection. It is to inspect or check their offices, guns, handcuffs, handcuff key, I.D ballpen, and tickler.             In this week, the group interchanged and went to another department. This time, I was assigned to the Police- Community Relations (PCR), where they are focused on giving services, supports, and building a mutual relationship between police agencies and community. But before we lived the Admin Office, they gave us another orientation but for this time it is a bit deeper because we are learning and understanding the organizational structure of Philippine National Police, Republic Act 8551, monthly salary, ranks and insignia, types of uniform: GOA type A, GOA type B, GOA type C, Athletic Uniform, and Combat Uniform.             Like we did in the Admin Office, we did minor work...

IMMERSION: First Day

Image
The Philippine National Police’s mission is to enforce the law, to prevent and control crimes, to maintain peace and order, and to ensure public safety and internal security with the active support of the community.     Knowing this statement makes me think that police officers/ law enforcement are somewhat strict, firm, and serious. Unexpectedly, I was surprised that they were not the same law enforcers as I have known or heard of them before. The warmed welcome they gave proved me wrong, they are reformed to be approachable and respectful towards the community.     The first day of immersion went well as PCI. Philippe M. Armigos conducted a short orientation of the police duties and directories. Also, since its Thursday they let us out for the home to change our school uniform into sports attire because every Tuesday and Thursday is an athletic day. They let us participate in their sports activity like basketball, badminton, lawn tennis, etc; as a train...

WORK IMMERSION SEND- OFF CEREMONY

Image
Work Immersion Send- off Ceremony symbolizes that we, Senior High School students, the apprentices, were ready and well- prepared to work for our chosen job. During the ceremony, there was a recognition of students by strands and candle lighting that indicates to light our way towards our journey to discovering ourselves. As a Senior High School student, I experienced a lot of changes especially in academics, facilities, etc. Additionally, every Senior High students knew that the implementation of another two- year in high school has so many flaws. But, with this ceremony I realized that I am blessed to be one of the students who were given an opportunity to be a part of the K- 12 curriculum.             Attending the send- off ceremony together with my parents was great; to have that experience felt like I have completed the half of my journey as a student and knowing that I can able to immerse means I ...

SIMBALAY FESTIVAL: A BOUNTIFUL HARVEST

Image
December is a month where lights are sparkling along the streets, where lanterns are hanging outside in every window, where people were captivated by the thoughts of Christmas. Simbalay Festival also happens to be in December; it is celebrated every year to express gratitude for the bountiful harvest. People of Nabunturan celebrate Simbalay Festival by building up ‘bahay kubos’ filled with the fruitful harvest from their own barangays. As I was strolling in the street- where they displayed all the bahay kubos- I was amazed at how Nabunturanons celebrate and value the culture and tradition of Nabunturan. I have seen joyful smiles as they watch every light and bahay kubos they passed by.             Simbalay Festival is another way of promoting tourism in Nabunturan; showcasing the culture, tradition, and food in different barangays of Nabunturan. Showing how productive, abund...

Parents' Day

Image
The family is a fundamental block of the society. It is the source of our happiness and sadness, the source of our courage and motivation. The family is indeed composed of a parent and a child; it is not just it, and just not a word, it symbolizes respect, love, and care. We can only learn to have these because of our parents.             Our parents were there for us since the day we received life until the day we learned to speak and walk, and up to now. The main reason why our family is still called a family is that of our parents who are still there to build a concrete relationship with us. Our parents still battling for the hardship on how to raise us as a good person, to guide us in our decisions, to help us overcome our challenges, to gives us motivation to get up and continue our lives when we met failure, and to give us their full support in every activities and contest we ...

INAKALA: IACAT ANTI- HUMAN TRAFFICKING MUSIC VIDEO CONTEST ENTRY

Image
INAKALA music video is one of the entries in IACAT that shows human trafficking in the Philippines. Human trafficking is third- largest criminal activity in the world and a most significant issue in the Philippines. Human trafficking means forcing a person- male or female- to do awful things by the means of threat and abused their human rights such as using them for commercial sexual exploitation, forced labor, and slavery.           One of the reasons why human trafficking always exists is poverty, lack of knowledge, tyranny, and absence of human rights. These reasons can make a person throw himself into human trafficking.            As I have seen in the video I have realized that I should be aware of this criminal activity and have enough knowledge about its effects on the minds and emotions to the person- abused, so that I can share my knowledge to my peers and ...
