Parents' Day

The family is a fundamental block of the society. It is the source of our happiness and sadness, the source of our courage and motivation. The family is indeed composed of a parent and a child; it is not just it, and just not a word, it symbolizes respect, love, and care. We can only learn to have these because of our parents.

Our parents were there for us since the day we received life until the day we learned to speak and walk, and up to now. The main reason why our family is still called a family is that of our parents who are still there to build a concrete relationship with us. Our parents still battling for the hardship on how to raise us as a good person, to guide us in our decisions, to help us overcome our challenges, to gives us motivation to get up and continue our lives when we met failure, and to give us their full support in every activities and contest we joined. Sometimes we misunderstood them for being strict and firm to their “No’s” and sometimes we cursed them, blame them for not getting what we want. But they are still our parents who wish that their multiple no’s would lead us to the better path in the future.

Parents’ Day was celebrated once in a year and a day where our parents should be treated more special than an ordinary day. It is a chance that you can show your deepest gratitude to them, your sincere apology for your bad behavior. Honestly, I was absent on that day because my parents had quite busy schedules so they cannot come. I think it would be better not to attend the program since my parents weren’t there. But, I prepared a small gift for them just to show how much I am blessed to have them.

I am thankful to God for giving me a priceless gift, my parents.
